Obituary of Maria Elena Garcia-Farfan

Maria Elena Garcia-Farfan, 63, of Lakewood died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at home. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she lived in Freehold prior to moving to Lakewood six years ago. She was a baker for Foodarama, Freehold, for seven years, retiring in 2012. Surviving are her husband, Ezequiel Chavez; two sons, Efrain Cruz, Freehold, and Elysamuel Cruz, Puerto Rico; three daughters, Maria Mendez-Huerta, Freehold, Carmen J. Ramos, Lakewood, and Angelina Araujo-Chavez, Freehold; three step-daughters, Esther, Rebecca, and Naomi Chavez, all of Freehold; four brothers; seven sisters; 17 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
