Obituary of John Wilson Hendrickson
John Wilson Hendrickson, 86, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he lived his whole life in Freehold.
Mr. Hendrickson was a collector for the New Jersey Natural Gas Company, Wall Township, for 38 years, retiring in 1993.
John was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
John was a 75 year member of the First Baptist Church of Freehold.
His wife, Gladys Whitt Hendrickson, died in 1981.
Surviving are a son, John Hendrickson, III, Freehold; his grandchildren, Lawrence Hendrickson and his wife, Tangi, Canton, Ohio, and DeeAnne Baker and her husband, Michael, Lake Hopatcong; two sisters, Althea Rose, Freehold, and Jeanne Kunigel, Jefferson, Pennsylvania; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Jameson, Greyson, and Evelyn.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in his memory to the NJ State Veterans Memorial Home, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08837 would be appreciated.
