Obituary of Thelma N. Ellington
Thelma Ellington, 85 of Freehold died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Centrastate Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Elmo County, Alabama, she lived in Newark, NJ prior to Freehold for the last 17 years.
Mrs. Ellington was a certified Nurses Aid. She worked for Griswold Home Care, Red Bank, NJ.
She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church, Newark where she volunteered as a part of the Willing Workers. She was also a volunteer worker at New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold.
She is predeceased by her husband, Edgar Ellington, her parents Charlie Hill Sr. and Milobelia Perry Hill, three brothers; John Hill, Curtis Hill and Herman Hill and one sister; Missie Howard.
Surviving are six brothers; Charlie Hill Jr. of Farmingdale, NJ, Carl Hill of Freehold, Douglas Hill of Neptune, Jack Hill of Lakewood, Larry Hill of Neptune and Perry Hill of Dayton, NJ, three sisters; Ruby Colbert of Freehold, Loretta Hayes of Freehold and Sarah Johnson of Newark, NJ, four godchildren; Herman Colbert, Kevin Hill, Vincent Hill, Shanna Hill and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Additional visitation will be Saturday morning, April 20, 2013, at the Bethel AME Baptist Church, Freehold from 8:30 A.M. until the funeral service at 9:30 A.M. at the church. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel, NJ.
