Obituary of Otto Frank Strauss

Otto Frank Strauss, 82, of Freehold Township died peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Mr. Strauss was born in Newark. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. Mr. Strauss was a carpenter for Carpenters Union Local No. 2250, Red Bank. After his retirement he was a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Freehold and participated in the church’s mission trips. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, a member of the Stroke Support Group at HealthSouth, Tinton Falls, and a former member of the Adelphia Fire Company. Surviving are his wife, Jane P. Sheppard Strauss; two daughters, Jessica and Susan Strauss; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew McQuillan. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Freehold on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 91 West Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728.
