Obituary of John C. Chamra

John C. Chamra, Sr., 93 of Monroe Township, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Cranbury Center, Monroe Township. Born in Carteret, he lived there prior to moving to Monroe Township in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, serving in Europe and North Africa. He was employed by British Petroleum, Carteret, for 42 years, retiring in 1980. He served on the Carteret Zoning Board of Adjustments; and was a member of the V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1280. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Chamra, in 2003. Surviving are his sons, John C. Chamra, Jr. and Gregory J. Chamra; a sister, Catherine Trustrum; and a granddaughter, Jillian Chamra. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at the Brigadier William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
