Obituary of Dorothy Joan Rooney

Dorothy Joan Rooney, 91, of Freehold Township died Sunday, May 26, 2013at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Metuchen prior to moving to Freehold Township. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, Freehold Township. Her husband, William Joseph Rooney, died in 2010. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, William J. Rooney Jr. and Margarita Rooney; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rooney. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:15 A.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
