Obituary of Thomas J. Abbate

Thomas J.” T.J.” Abbate, 12, of Freehold Township died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. T.J. was born in Red Bank. He was a seventh grade student at Schroth School, Ocean Township. T.J. was known for his contagious laugh and he will always be remembered for his endearing attitude toward life. Special thanks are given to all the staff that supported T.J. through the years. Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Ann K. Johnson Abbate; his siblings, Abigail R., Samantha, A., and Jonathan D. Abbate; his maternal grandparents, Ann and Jan Johnson; his paternal grandfather, Frank Abbate; his maternal uncles, Gerald and Joel Johnson; his paternal aunts and uncles, Deborah and Steven Maginnis, Louise Mitchell, Alexander and Kathy Abbate, Mary Ellen and Mark Vanatter, Joseph and Debbie Abbate, Richard and Maritza Abbate, Patrick Abbate, Kathleen Picciano, Lisa and David Giovanni, and Carolyne Abbate; and many cousins and friends. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Monday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Ladicin Network/Schroth School, 1701 Kneeley Ave., Wanamassa, NJ 07712 or Children’s Specialized Hospital, 94 Stevens Road, Toms River, NJ 08755 would be appreciated.
