Obituary of Robert John Hochreiter
Robert John Hochreiter, of Long Branch passed away peacefully on May 31, 2013 from the enduring effects of Muscular Dystrophy. A long-time resident of the Shore area, he was a 1968 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School and attended Emerson College and Montclair State University.
He was diagnosed with Becker's MD in his early teens and suffered thdecline in muscles over the course of his life, spending approximately thirty years confined to a wheel chair. Despite the limitations of the disease, he worked for several local firms a scheduler and title analyst.
He was unfailingly optimistic and positive throughout his life and was
a source of inspiration and strength to friends and family alike. He enjoyed the company of many and disliked that he might be a burden to others.
The son of the late Margaret and Norbert E. Hochreiter, he is survived
by a sister, Mary Kaiser, of Frederick, MD and a brother, E. Joseph Hochreiter, of Greenwich, CT. He also is survived by his loving nephew, Gareth Graeme Hochreiter, of Long Branch, NJ.
