Obituary of David Robert Ackerman

David Robert Ackerman, 79, of Howell Township passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at home. He was born in Irvington. Mr. Ackerman was a machine mechanic for Brockway Glass Company, Freehold. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a wonderful husband and family man. He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas W. Ackerman and Arthur A. Ackerman, both in 1994. Surviving are his wife, Jean Suydam Ackerman; two sons and daughters-in-law, David Arthur and Dina Ackerman, and William and Mary Ackerman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and John Rasmussen, and Mary Elizabeth and Michael Frank; a brother, Robert Ackerman; 11 grandchildren, Kelly Ann McCann and her husband Owen, Christopher Rasmussen and his wife, Phyllis, Matthew Rasmussen, David Michael Ackerman and his wife, Sheena, Timothy and Steven Ackerman, and Raymond, Erik, Andrew, Ian, and Samuel Frank; a great grandson, David Eric Ackerman; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
