Obituary of William Carl Overholser

William Carl Overholser, 62, of Freehold died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home. He was an amazing father and doting grandfather. He was a graduate of The College of New Jersey and received his Master’s Degree from Georgian Court University. He was a teacher at East Jersey State Prison, Rahway from 1977 to 2010. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold and a member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus and MENSA. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Veronica Overholser and their three children and their families, Veronica and Anthony Romeo and their three children, Devin Asay, Logan Asay, and Taylor Lee Romeo; Rita Ann Overholser and her two children, Dillon Corey and Maddison Corey; and Patrick Overholser and Daniela Galvez and their children, Phoenix Overholser and Kymani Febo. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Sally Overholser and their family. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Adler Aphasia Center, 60 West Hunter Ave, Maywood, NJ 07607 would be appreciated.
