Obituary of Robert Clayton

Robert Clayton, Jr., 60, of Freehold, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Neptune Care Center, Neptune Township. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, he has lived in Freehold most of his life. Mr. Clayton was the owner and operator of Emory Transport, Asbury Park, for 15 years, retiring last year. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Clayton, Sr.; and two sons, Emory Height and Vernon Reynolds. Surviving are his wife, Vickie Height Clayton; his mother, Lillie M. Love Clayton, Freehold; two sons, Jelani Dukes and his wife Arlin, Somerset, and Robert Reynolds, Asbury Park; two stepsons, Cameron Height, Neptune Township, and Atif Dukes, New Brunswick; two stepdaughters, Trina Reynolds, East Orange, and Angel Armstrong, Lakewood; a brother, Kenneth Clayton, Freehold; two sisters, Carolyn Banks and her husband Richard, Jackson Township, and Cynthia Clayton Edgerton and her husband Gary, Freehold; and 18 grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M. Interment will be private.
