Obituary of John A. Weighell
John A. Weighell, 84, of Colts Neck, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Los Angeles, California, he lived in Freehold prior to moving to Colts Neck 54 years ago.
Mr. Weighell was a Field Relay Supervisor for J.C.P. &L., Wall Township, for 42 years, retiring 19 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Colts Neck.
Mr. Weighell was a Master Mason with Olive Branch No. 16, F. & A.M., and a member of the Masonic Kilties of New Jersey; a life member of the Scottish Rite Northern Valley District; and a member of the Colts Neck Senior Citizens, the Colts Neck Sports Foundation, and an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 290, Boy Scouts of America, Colts Neck.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Charlotte Cooper Weighell, and his sister, Mary Alice Beck.
Surviving are the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Constance Mica Weighell; a son and daughter-in-law, John A. and Christine A. Weighell, Oceanport; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and Greg Heh, Long Branch, and Margaret O’Hare, Colts Neck; three grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew O’Hare, and Abigail Weighell; a brother-in-law, George A. Mica, Howell Township; and several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Pepper and Bridie.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
