Obituary of James Dorey

James Dorey, 91 of Toms River passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Toms River. Born in Howell Township, he lived in Neptune Township and Hobe Sound, Florida for ten years prior to moving to Toms River 20 years ago. Mr. Dorey was a communications specialist for the U.S. Army, Fort Monmouth. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Toms River; a member of V.F.W. Post No. 9503, Bayville, and American Legion Post No. 346, Neptune Township. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Patricia Boyle Dorey, in 2012, a son, Kevin Dorey, in 2005; and three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, James Dorey and his wife, Barbara, Manchester, and Joseph Dorey and his wife, Teresa, Toms River; a daughter-in-law, Linda Dorey Campbell, San Diego, California; five grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
