Obituary of Edward Champ Tyler
Edward Franklin “Champ” Tyler, 61 of Berkeley Township, a “Sports Legend” of Freehold passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence. Born in Neptune, he was raised and attended Freehold Borough school systems. “Champ” was an avid sports player, a master paver and a heavy duty truck driver.
Edward was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by four sons, Darian and Kenneith Crooms, DeShawn and Antione Hodge; one Aunt, Armatrue(John) Simmons; four sisters, Mildred Mitchell, Jessie Mae Tucker, Carolyn Funches and Stacey Tyler; three brothers, Richard & Willie Tyler, and James Brown.
Funeral Services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
