Obituary of Raymond Stone

Raymond Stone, 84, of Silvermead, Freehold, loving husband to his wife and best friend Dolores Barberi Brake Stone, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at home. Born in Valhalla, New York, he lived in Hazlet prior to moving to Freehold 22 years ago. Mr. Stone was a retired truck driver for Central New York Freightways, Lyndhurst and Hetem Brothers, Linden. He also worked many years at Manalapan Country Lanes and Good Cooker’s Café, Howell Township. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Stone was an avid golfer and life member of Bella Vista Country Club (formerly Holland Orchard), Marlboro Township. He was awarded 2010 “Player of the Year” with victories standing alone were Presidents Cup and “D” Flight of Club Championship, 2nd place in Super Senior Championship, 8th place in the Tour Championship, plus three victories and two 2nd place finishes in a one day event! His family and golf were his passion in life. He leaves behind his former wife, Mary Mumm; his children, Laurie Stipple, and her children Ricky Wunder and his wife Kelly, and Brian Wunder; Chuck Stone and his fiance, Teresa, and his son Dustin Stone and his wife, Jen; Nancy Gladney and her husband, John, and their children David Royle and his wife, Sue, Timmy Royle and his wife, Wendy, Steven Piano-Rolon and his partner Michelangelo, and Shelby Gladney; Linda Fackina and her son Jason Reynolds; Cindi Ash and her husband John, and their children Connor and Crystal; Pam Smith and her husband Kevin, and their children Devin, Cheyenne, and Cierra; Linda Brake, Alison Brackett, Pat Brake and his wife Sarah, and their children Patrick, Thomas, and Christopher; and ten precious great grandchildren, Kevin, Brittany, Ashliee, Ryan, Kevin, Holly, Mercer, Merrit, Tyler, and Parker; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa and James Barberi; his best friends Cecile and Jim Mongan; and his golf buddies Cono Petrizzo, Jim Tate, and Frank Bowman. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
