Betty Ann Richard, 74, of Colts Neck, passed away November 28, 2013 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Betty Ann was born in Riverview Hospital and raised in Red Bank and Middletown, graduating from Leonardo High School. Betty Ann went to work for the Department of the Army at Fort Monmouth, right out of high school, before marrying John Richard, Jr. in 1961, and assuming the office management responsibilities of Atlantic Sanitation in Colts Neck. After twenty years with Atlantic she returned to Fort Monmouth with her secretarial and management skills until retirement. Her husband John states, “If she were in Washington, there would be a budget and the books would be balanced. In heaven, for sure, the spelling and grammar in all emails henceforth will be correct.” Betty Ann loved to travel and spend the winters in Key Largo. Her husband John says he’s going to miss his great dance partner. Betty Ann was predeceased by her parents Margaret Allen Crawford and Harold W. Crawford, Sr., Middletown; her brothers, Harold W. Crawford, Jr., Neptune, Bruce A. Crawford, Virginia Beach, Virginia; her sisters, Doris Lavenia Parrish, Florida, and Margaret Joan St. Albin, Matthews, North Carolina.
