Obituary of Bernard Tierney

Bernard “Brian” Tierney, 70, of Freehold Township died Friday, May 13, 2016 at home. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and had resided in Rosedale, Queens, N.Y. before moving to Freehold Township in 1973. He was the owner and operator of Celtic Construction Company, Freehold Township. Brian was a member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knight of Columbus, Freehold. He was predeceased by a daughter, Natalie Tierney, in 2013. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Korbuszewski Tierney; three sons, Brian Patrick Tierney, Douglas Tierney, and Craig Tierney; a daughter, Karen Tierney-Quigley; five sisters, Kathleen Moquin, Noreen Tierney, Mary Halford, Annette McGowen, and Jaqueline Bartley; and seven grandchildren, Sean, Darryan, Ryan, Shannon, Kayla, Devin, and Seamus. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held during the viewing hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Holistacare Hospice, 1144 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753 or St. Jude Children Research Hospital would be appreciated.
