Obituary of Richard E. Bragg

Richard E. Bragg, 66, of Helmetta, Passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in New York, New York, he lived in California and Old Bridge prior to moving to Helmetta eight years ago. Mr. Bragg was a self employed Insurance Recovery Specialist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Voge. A graduate of Port Richmond High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Baruch College. He was a member of the Maritime Law Association, former Marine Claims and Recovery Forum President; and was named Insurance Person of the Year in 1998. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Jets, and enjoyed golfing. Surviving are his son, Richard; his daughter, Amanda, two brothers, Carl and Russell Bragg; his sister, Carol Fornino; and his grandchildren, Evan and Emma Bragg, three nephews, four nieces, many cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck.
