Obituary of George Alfred Stafford

George Alfred Stafford, 83, of Freehold Township died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Stafford served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1957. Before his retirement he was president of Custom Promotions, a sales and marketing firm located in Freehold. He was an accomplished painter and supporter of the arts. His wife, Lillian E. Stafford, died in 1999. He was also predeceased by a brother, Joseph Alfred Stafford. Surviving are a son, David C. Stafford and his wife Linda; three daughters, Patricia K. Stafford, Susan E. Gaston and her husband Michael, and Nancy K Stafford and her husband Bill Bagwill; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Emily, and Ian Stafford, and Erin Gaston. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
