Obituary of James Edward Martin
James Edward Martin, Jr., 65, of Freehold died Friday, January 17, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area.
He was a presser Colts Neck Cleaners and had previously been employed at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital.
He was an associate minister at the Macedonia Freehold Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Freehold where he served as Brotherhood President, Senior Choir President, and organized the Henson Knights Choir. He was a former Diocese Executive Secretary and Diocese ABYPU President.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Edward Martin, Sr. and Virginia Parham Martin; his grandparents, Deacon Charles Parham and Mother Martha Parham; and a brother, Dean Martin.
Surviving are his sisters, Carolyn and Cheryl Martin and an uncle, Charles Parham.
The viewing will be held at the Macedonia Freehold Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 163 Throckmorton Street, Freehold on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
