Obituary of John Joseph O'Toole
John Joseph O’Toole, 77, of The Villages, Howell Township died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Bayshore Healthcare Center, Holmdel Township. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he had resided before moving to Howell Township 17 years ago.
He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. O’Toole was an avid N.Y. Giants and San Francisco Giants fan.
Mr. O’Toole was a banker for C.I.B.C., New York City for 15 years before his retirement in 1991. Prior that he was a banker for the Chase Bank for 25 years.
He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, Freehold Township.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Birkenmeyer O’Toole; a son, John J. O’Toole, III; four daughters, Theresa Sacca, Irene Matos and husband Roberto, Bernadette O’Toole and husband Stephen Cann, and Jacqueline DiBernardo and husband, Joseph; a brother, Kevin Patrick O’Toole; two sisters, Maureen Conway, and Eileen Koeppel; five grandchildren, Alexandra Costa, Nicole O’Toole, James O’Toole, Joseph DiBernardo, and Ryan DiBernardo; and 13 nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. followed interment at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro Township. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
