Obituary of Carolyn Elizabeth Pettit

Carolyn Elizabeth Pettit, 70, of Jackson Township died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at home. She was born in Belleville. She was a bookkeeper for Gelbstein’s Bakery, Lakewood before her retirement. Carol was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, Freehold Township where she served as a Eucharistic Minister at CentraState Medical Center. She was a member of the Father Benedict Ministry of the church. She was a member of Our Lady Prayer Group, Spring Lake and Our Lady’s Prayer Group, Marlboro Township. She was a loving nanny to her grandchildren and was a regular supporter at their soccer and baseball games. She was predeceased by her husband, James M. Pettit, in 2007 and a sister, Janet Kingston in 1996. Surviving are two sons, Stephen Kinder and Robert Kinder and his wife Carol; her stepchildren, Dan Pettit and Raymond Pettit and wife Tonya, and Sandy; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Lorraine O’Prandy, Pete and Laura O’Prandy, Jack and Nancy O’Prandy, Jim and Denise O’Prandy; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ed Thompson; 17 loving grandchildren; a great grandson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to Orphans of Uganda, care of St. Catherine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762 would be appreciated.
