Obituary of Carolyn Elizabeth Pettit

Carolyn Elizabeth Pettit, 70, of Jackson Township died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at home. She was born in Belleville. She was a bookkeeper for Gelbstein’s Bakery, Lakewood before her retirement. Carol was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, Freehold Township where she served as a Eucharistic Minister at CentraState Medical Center. She was a member of the Father Benedict Ministry of the church. She was a member of Our Lady Prayer Group, Spring Lake and Our Lady’s Prayer Group, Marlboro Township. She was a loving nanny to her grandchildren and was a regular supporter at their soccer and baseball games. She was predeceased by her husband, James M. Pettit, in 2007 and a sister, Janet Kingston in 1996. Surviving are two sons, Stephen Kinder and Robert Kinder and his wife Carol; her stepchildren, Dan Pettit and Raymond Pettit and wife Tonya, and Sandy; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Lorraine O’Prandy, Pete and Laura O’Prandy, Jack and Nancy O’Prandy, Jim and Denise O’Prandy; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ed Thompson; 17 loving grandchildren; a great grandson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
