Obituary of Dorothy M. Aldi

Dorothy M. Aldi, 97, of Colts Neck died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at home. Mrs. Aldi was born in New York City and had resided in Hillside for nearly 50 years before moving to Colts Neck in 1996. Before her retirement, Mrs. Aldi was a medical office manager for Zenaida Gonzaga, M.D., Irvington. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck. Mrs. Aldi was an accomplished chef with recipes published in a major French cookbook in 1980. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Angello of Elizabeth and a brother, Gerald Cabiati, Union. Surviving are two sons, Gerald R. Aldi, Colts Neck and Andrew V. Aldi, Jr., Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Gloria Woods, Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Adrienne V. Messina and Andrew V. Aldi, III; and four great grandsons, Nicholas Messina, Andrew Aldi IV, Luke Aldi, and Ryan Aldi Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Cemetery, Union Township.
