Obituary of Charles Vincent Martin

Charles Vincent “Booty” Martin, 71, of Freehold Township died Monday, March 17, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong Freehold resident. He served in the U.S. Army, Troop B, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division. He was a partner in the Riddle and Martin Sub Shop, South River. Mr. Martin was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; a member of American Legion Post No. 54, Freehold and was one of the founders of Freehold Cruise Night. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael Vincent and Agnes DuBois Martin and a sister, Barbara Martin. Surviving are his wife, Asmati Chitauri Martin; a son, Aleksi Buchukri; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan Richard and Mary Lynn Martin and Lawrence J. and Linda Martin; and several nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. American Legion services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
