Obituary of Edward T. Moriarty
Edward T. Moriarty, Jr., 47, of Lakewood died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at home. He was born in Staten Island and resided in Manalapan Township for 30 years before moving to Lakewood ten years ago.
He was a graduate of St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel Township, Class of 1985.
Ed was a senior member the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad and a former member of the Gordon’s Corner Fire Company. He was a devoted New York Mets fan, New York Giants fan, and enjoyed watching WWE. He looked forward to his vacations to Disney World.
He was a public safety telecommunicator for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Freehold since 1997.
Ed was predeceased by his father, Edward T. Moriarty, Sr. in 1998.
Surviving are his beloved mother, Priscilla Amandola Moriarty; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Walt Hickey and Beth Ann and Tom Vroman; four nephews, Walter Hickey, Thomas Vroman, Brian Hickey and Patrick Vroman; a niece, Colleen Hickey; an aunt, Emilie Circus; and countless friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated St. Luke’s R.C. Church, Toms River on Friday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Deborah Heart and Lung Center or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
