Obituary of Forrest M. Woolford
Forrest M. “Tree” Woolford, 55, of Freehold died Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong Freehold resident.
He was a mechanic for the Manalapan Township Department of Public Works.
He was a member and Ex-Captain of the Monmouth Hose Company of the Freehold Fire Department. He was a fifth generation Freehold Fire Department member and served as Chief of the department from 1996 to 1998. He was a member of the Freehold Fire Department Ex-Chiefs Association, Freehold Fire Department Exempt Fireman’s Association, Turkey Swamp Rod and Gun Club, and the Freehold Fin, Fur, and Feather Club.
His father, Bruce Woolford, died last October.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Woolford; two daughters, Kristen Richmond and her husband Joe and Heather Woolford; his mother, Daffie Mitchell Woolford; a sister, Betsy Lachowsky and her husband Michael; a granddaughter, AnnMarie Richmond; his nieces, Julia Givens and Larissa Lachowsky; his mother-in-law, Margaret Bradley; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Terry and John Givens; and his Godchildren, Victoria and Patrick Wagner.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Freehold Fire Department services will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
