Obituary of Donald Bruce Tackett

Donald Bruce Tackett, Sr., 83, of Myerstown, Pennsylvania died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and had resided in Cranbury and Marlboro before moving to Pennsylvania. He was a sheet metal worker for Cranbury Sheet Metal, Cranbury before his retirement. He was a member of Williamstown Lodge No. 307, F&AM, Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania and a former member of the Marlboro Fire Company. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Viola Millen Tackett; a daughter, Shirley M. Dail; a son, Donald B. Tackett, Jr; two brothers, Robert and Ralph Tackett; a sister, Iris Hussey; two grandchildren, Christine Goldenbaum and Lynda Golden; and five great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Anthony, and Emily Goldenbaum and Adriana and Alexia Butare. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Masonic services will be on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Old Brick Reformed Church Cemetery, Marlboro Township. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or Special Olympics would be appreciated.
