Obituary of Christopher Michael Gant

Christopher Michael Gant, 28, was a free spirit who left us much too soon when he passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2016 in San Diego, CA. Born August 10, 1987 and raised in Freehold, NJ, he graduated Freehold High School in 2005. From his earliest years, Chris had an infectious smile and an unapologetic laugh. He enjoyed trips to his uncle’s cabin, camping, and the close companionship of his cousins. He considered them all his brothers and sisters. Eventually he grew into a young man with a thirst for adventure, and as time went on, he developed a passion for music, fashion, graphic arts and social media. Chris’ restless nature and adventurous spirit resulted in a fast-paced life. Those close to him know how hard he struggled to battle his wild streak, but as he searched to find himself, always missing the family he so loved, his adventure came to a close. He will be deeply missed, whether chasing his dreams or fighting his demons, his spirit is now free, and in our hearts forever. He will always remain the young boy with the infectious smile. Christopher was predeceased by his loving Grandfather, W. J. Eugene Kelsey and paternal grandparents. Mourning his loss are his Grandmother, Dorothea Cerrato Kelsey, his loving Mom and Dad, Jeanne and Jeff Flegler, his Aunt, Patti Kelsey, Uncles, John, Timothy, Denis (Lorraine), Daniel (Marlene) and Richard (Jill) Kelsey, Step-Brothers, Jeffrey, Michael, and Bryan (Pam) Flegler, Niece, Samantha. Cousins Dan Sheinbaum, Zach Kelsey, Nicole (Christian) Arielle, Ezra, and Charlotte Espinosa, Dylan, Vick, Ian, Maddie, Sean and Connor Kelsey. Chris is also survived by close family friends Rocco Magistrelli and Carol Kasyan along with his large extended family of cousins and friends. At the request of the family, all services are private.
