Obituary of Margaret Anne McDonald
Margaret Anne McDonald (nee Herbert), age 78, of Manalapan passed away quietly in her home on May 13, 2014. Born in Jersey City on May 14, 1935 Margaret Anne Herbert joyfully married John P. McDonald in 1958 at St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Jersey City and they were a devoted and loving couple for over 55 years. In 1967 they moved to Manalapan where they raised their four children and contributed their time and energy to community life.
Her loving presence in this world will be missed by her husband, John and daughters, Elizabeth, Maureen and Margaret; son, Vincent; her children’s spouses Ted Cross and Parul S. McDonald; grandchildren Amita and Kavina; dearest friends Laurie and Samantha Frange whom she loved as family; her beloved brothers James P. Herbert and Francis X. Herbert as well as many godchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Her brothers William, Michael and John Herbert and sister Mary Herbert Riley predeceased her.
Margaret Anne honored and appreciated the many religious and non-religious traditions observed by her family members and friends and requested that people remember and honor her memory in whatever way brings them the most comfort and ease. She died with a peaceful heart full of love and gratitude for the many blessings she enjoyed in this life and with the certain knowledge that she would know the presence of God and her loved ones in the next.
