Obituary of Ivis B. Braker
Ivis B. Braker, 82, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday May 25, 2014 at her daughter’s home. Born in Long Branch, she lived in Colts Neck prior to moving to Freehold 64 years ago.
Mrs. Braker worked at the A. & M. Karagheusian Rug Mill in Freehold for several years before beginning her career of 38 years as a packer for the 3-M Company in Freehold. Upon retiring in 1996, she served as a volunteer for Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Robert George Braker, Jr. in 2001.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Braker, III, and his wife, Jill, Jackson Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Michael Tellier, Jackson Township, and Sandra and Kenneth Hans, Brick; a brother, Smith Blanchard, Dushore, Pennsylvania and Lake Worth, Florida; eight grandchildren, Darren, Jessica, Shellie, Shannon, Robert IV, Kevin, Kenneth, and Zakary; seven great grandchildren; one niece and four nephews; and several “honorary” grandchildren.
Mrs. Braker truly loved providing for and spending time with her family, friends, and three cats, Patches, Foxy and Tommy. She had a fondness for butterflies, cardinals, hearts, and was also an avid Mets fan. She will always be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday May 29, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Donations in her memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, 14 Commerce Drive, Suite 301, Cranford NJ 07016 would be appreciated.
