Obituary of Junior Mumpower

Junior Mumpower, 85, of Farmingdale died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Bristol, Tennessee and had resided in Farmingdale from 1960 to 1991 before returning to Farmingdale in 2010. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a mechanic at Hominy Hill Golf Course and the Monmouth County Park System for 38 years before his retirement. He was predeceased by his mom, dad, and nine siblings. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Colleen Joline Mumpower; three sons, Jeff, Raymond, and Richard and his wife Bonnie; a daughter Connie Van Pelt and husband Paul; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren, two brothers, Oscar and Hartzel; and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
