Obituary of Richard H. Montanye

Richard H. "Butch" Montanye, Jr., 67, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Middletown and Long Branch before moving to Freehold seven years ago. Mr. Montanye was a self-employed carpenter. He attended Calvary Chapel Old Bridge. The center of his life was Jesus, family, friends, and music. He loved to play his guitar and riding motorcycles. He was a devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, and his true joy in life was spending time with his family. Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Alan Quackenbush, Freehold; and his niece and nephews, Jason, Sarah, Alan, Jr. and his wife, Christina. The family wishes to thank the staff of CentraState Medical Center for their exemplary care given to Richard, as well as the kindness expressed to them during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Living Word Christian Church, 47 Memorial Parkway, Atlantic Highlands. In lieu of flowers, donations to Living Word Christian Church would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
