Obituary of David J. DeVitis

David J. DeVitis, 77, of Howell Township died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in Neptune Township. He was a farmer in Howell Township and a carpenter for United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Local No. 2250, Red Bank. A sister, Rosemary Borodunovich, died in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Jones DeVitis; a son and daughter-in-law, David Stephen and Phyllis DeVitis; two brothers, Lawrence and Louis DeVitis; three sisters, Rita Conte, Eileen Beck, and Marie Abbatiello; two grandsons, Dean and Sam DeVitis, and an "adopted son" Leon Marter. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
