Obituary of Eugenia Graga

Eugenia “Jean” Graga, 94, of Howell Township died peacefully on June 12, 2016 at Care One at Jackson. Jean was born in Brooklyn, NY and had resided there until moving to Howell Township in 1964. A graduate of St. John’s University, she was a pediatric nursing supervisor at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Brooklyn and worked as a nurse at The Manor in Freehold until her retirement in 1985. Jean was a communicant of Saint Veronica’s Church in Howell Township, an original adorer of the Saint Veronica Adoration Chapel, and a member of the Howell Township Senior Citizen Group. She was a loving, caring, and generous person to all that she met and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph in 1996 as well as her parents, Elias and Anna Eustaff, and brother, Robert Eustaff. Surviving are her daughter, Janet Palmer and her husband, Scott, Clarksburg, two sons, Joseph Graga Jr. Howell Township, and Ronald Graga and wife Denise, Toms River; five grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Johnson, Elizabeth (Donovan) Marvin, Christopher Palmer, Travis Graga, and Holly Graga; three great grandchildren, Daniela, Vance, and Elijah Johnson; her cousin, Harriet Hild, Key Largo, FL and her devoted aide, Nammie Karble. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Arthur Frisch and the staff at Care One at Jackson for the exceptional care and compassion that was given to Jean during her stay. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday, June 15 at 10:00 am followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
