Obituary of Margaret Peace

Margaret M. Peace, 78, of Freehold died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at home. Mrs. Peace was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident. She was a glassware inspector at the Brockway Glass Company, Freehold before her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Peace was a lifelong member of the Bethel A.ME. Church, Freehold where she was corresponding secretary of the Missionary Society, treasurer of the Golden Age Club, and formerly served as president of the Gospel Choir. She was vice chairperson of the Freehold Housing Authority Board and secretary of the Court Street School Education Community Center. She was predeceased by a daughter, Fern Peace, in 1988 and a sister, Martha “Chunky” Butts. Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Samuels, Freehold, Aneesah “Wanda” Peace, Trenton; a sister, Shirley McCann, Freehold; nine grandchildren, Tinsey, Asya, LaShawn, Tyhirah, Kyle, Jammal, Michael, Shaquiell, and Kimani; and five great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at the church at noon followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
