Obituary of Florence K. Alpern

Florence K. Alpern, 89, of Freehold died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove. Mrs. Alpern was born in Asbury Park, resided in Freehold for most of her life followed by Toms River and most recently in Ocean Grove. Mrs. Alpern attended the former Beaver College, now Arcadia College, in Glenside, Penn. She was an assistant to her husband at Ben Alpern Realtors, Freehold before her retirement. She was a member of the Haddasah and Sisterhood of the Freehold Jewish Center, Freehold. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Ben, who died in 1984 and her daughter Meryl "Merri" Sadow in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Ronni A. Bohm and son-in law Peter, her son-in-law Gary Sadow; her grandchildren Eric and Jordan Bohm, Stephen and Stacey Bohm, Darin and Stephanie Sadow, and Todd Sadow; and her six great grandchildren, Sydney, Skylar, Edison, Winston, Ashton and Cameron. Graveside services will be held at the Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, 164 Route 33, Freehold on Tuesday at noon. The family asks that contributions in her memory be made to the activity center at Manor By The Sea in Ocean Grove, NJ or the charity of your choice. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
