Obituary of Maria Rieger Loeffler

Maria Rieger Loeffler, 96 of Freehold passed away on Saturday May 27, 2023, at Hackensack Meridian Health Old Bridge Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was born in Eggenfelden, Germany. She and her husband emigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1957, moving to Old Bridge in 1966, and settling in Freehold three years ago. Mrs. Loeffler was a hair stylist in Germany and the United States. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Loeffler in 2014. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Loeffler and Christopher Kean, Freehold; and two sisters in Germany, Ernestine Rieger Ungehauer and Ottilie Rieger Wild. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. On Friday, the family requests that you meet at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, 549 County Road 520, Marlboro Township at 11:00 A.M. for the Funeral Liturgy. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum.
