Obituary of Barbara Ann Chanis

Barbara Ann Chanis, 86, of Freehold Township died on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jackson Township. Mrs. Chanis, daughter of the late Henry and Olga Mazzeo Pflug, was born in Brooklyn, New York, and when newly married moved to Staten Island where she raised her family. She moved to Freehold Township in 1979. She was a communicant of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas P. Ferri in 1965 and her second husband, Stanley T Chanis in 2006. Surviving are a son, Thomas Ferri and wife Linda; two daughters, Toniann Marmora and husband John, and Dawn Marie Marmora; eight grandchildren, Johnny Marmora, Dylan Marmora, Kelsey Ferri, Zachary Ferri, Nicole Ellis, Danielle Ellis, Jason Ellis, and Travis Marmora; and a great grandchild, Nova Marmora. Private arrangements are being made by the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
