Obituary of Danny Michael Vnenchak

Danny Michael Vnenchak, 63, of Freehold, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 28, 2023, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Morristown and raised in Rockaway, he was a graduate of Morris Hills High, class of ‘77. He went on to get his bachelor’s degree at Drew University and his Law Degree at Western New England School of Law. Danny was married to Kathleen Smith and moved to Mount Olive, where they had two sons, Johnathan and Jeremy. Though divorced, Danny always lived in close proximity to his two boys in order to continue to be involved in everything they did. Danny later moved closer to the beach and lived in Red Bank, prior to moving to Freehold with his fianceé, Lyn, eight years ago. Danny was a Tel-Com Project Manager for Dish Network, Roseland. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1672, and B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1454, both of Freehold. He was a former member and Deputy Grand Knight for Council No. 5410, Blessed Mother Seton Knights of Columbus, Flanders, New Jersey. During his high school years, he was a member of the Harmony Senior Drum and Bugle Corps. He played in the Hawthorne Caballeros during and after college. He was an avid musician, fencer, soccer player and fan. Danny was a teacher and mentor, and he read the newspaper from cover to cover every day. Danny lived life on the edge to the very end. He was very charismatic and well-loved by people. Always full of life, he was comfortable in any situation. He loved the beach and a good tan! He was predeceased by his parents, John and Virginia Vnenchak; and his sister, Dawn Pegg. Surviving is his fiancée, Lyn Gillies; his sons, Johnathan Vnenchak and Jeremy Vnenchak; his granddaughter, Kennedy Vnenchak; and his brothers, David and Donny Vnenchak, as well as his nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Sandy. A memorial gathering will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. B.P.O. Elks services will be held at 1:30 PM, Knights of Columbus services at 1:45 PM, and religious services will be held at 2:00 PM. Following the memorial there will be a Repast and Celebration of Life to be held at the Elks Lodge No. 1454.
