Obituary of John Petrosini

John Petrosini, 96, of Freehold Township died on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Fontechiari, Italy and had resided in Staten Island, N.Y. and Florida before moving to Freehold Township. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Petrosini was a shoemaker before his retirement. His wife, Lauretta Petrosini, died in 2011. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Anna, Mario, Anthony, and Donato. Surviving are two sons, Daniel Petrosini and wife Julie, and Vincent Petrosini; two daughters, Patricia Petrosini and Angela Gesso and husband Michael; four grandchildren, Danielle Furslew and husband Raymond, Christopher Gesso, and Stephanie and Jennifer Petrosini; a great grandson Chase Furslew; and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel Township. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
