Obituary of Roland Sidney Stubbs

Roland Sidney “Stubby” Stubbs age 74 of Southampton NJ passed away on Saturday February 25th, 2023 at his home. Roland was born in Freehold NJ to Sidney and Lillian Stubbs on February 15th, 1949. He attended Freehold Regional High School graduating in 1967. He went on to earn a degree from Rets Technical School in Nutley NJ. Roland owned his own business, Personal Alarm Company before becoming an IT Manager for Raytheon later The Washington Group. In 2005 Roland began a business called Look Rite Auto where he worked with local car dealerships repairing bumpers and dents. After fully retiring in 2009 Roland enjoyed spending time with his dogs Bo and Leo and kept busy by doing household projects, mostly outdoors. In his younger years Roland enjoyed bowling and belonged to a bowling league. He was also an avid ham radio operator and belonged to JCARS radio club. Roland was a firearm enthusiast as well and was a member of Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club for many years and was also a member of the Elks Club. He always enjoyed fixing things and came up with creative ways to make things work. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Cynthia Stubbs of Southampton NJ, his son Robert (Robin) of Levittown PA, his daughter Ilyssa Estigarribia (Hugo) of Freehold NJ and his grandchildren Ryan, Amanda and Abigail. He is preceded in death by his father Sidney, his mother Lillian and his sister Linda. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 4th at 1pm at Higgins Funeral Home, 20 Center Street Freehold NJ. Memorial donations can made in his honor to Tunnel to Towers Foundation www.t2t.org
