Obituary of Robert Donald Kluesener

Robert Donald Kluesener, 71, of Freehold died on Monday, February 6, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He served in the U.S. Navy before retiring after 22 years of service. Following his retirement from the Navy he was employed at the Monmouth County Reclamation Center and the Borough of Freehold Municipal Building. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 54, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374, both of Freehold. He was predeceased by his wife, Romilda Kluesener; a granddaughter, Shyanne; his parents, Herman Benedict Kluesener and Barbara Southard Kluesener; and a sister, Jennie Beever. Surviving a son, Shawn Kluesener; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene Michele and Barney Bresnahan; two brothers, Herman Benedict Kluesener, Jr. and wife Bunny, and John Kluesener and his wife Robin; a sister, Phyllis Duquette and husband Peter; grandchildren, Shawn, Jr., Brady, Riley, Shea, Amanda, and Sean; and his companion, Nancy Rakes. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. American Legion services will be held the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. and funeral services and a time of remembrance will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Monmouth Post No. 54, American Legion, 62 West Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 or Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
