Obituary of Joseph Minerchak
Joseph Minerchak, 94, of Morganville died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. He was born in Elizabeth and resided in Whiting, Leonardo, and Roselle before moving to Morganville in 2006.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a rigger for Exxon, Linden before his retirement.
Mr. Minerchak was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, both of Linden; and the Linden Sportsmen’s Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Louse Minerchak; three daughters, Bonnie Chaya and husband Bob, Jacqueline Chaplinski and husband Stanley, and Linda Williams; four grandchildren, Joseph, Christine, Craig, and Christopher; and four great grandchildren, Heidi, Annelise, Mason, and Zachary.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold from Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 . The interment will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
