Obituary of Mihail G. Sarris
Mihail G. Sarris was born in the village of Volada on the island of Karpathos, Greece and moved to the United States at the age of 16 living in the Freehold area ever since. He passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon December 28th, 2022.
Mihail was your textbook eternal optimist. No matter what obstacles and challenges life threw his way he would always see the good in every situation and maintained a positive and upbeat attitude. He was always excited at the prospect of going out with friends or his sons to “Diner Hop”, visiting old friends and competitors in the diner business while reminiscing with them about “The Good Ol’ Days”. These good ol’ days he so frequently talked about are the years he ran the kitchen in his family’s diner, the La Mirage (currently the All Seasons II), where he worked 15 hour days for 10 years straight only ever taking a day off to mourn the passing of his mother. That diner and the few other restaurants he worked at following the sale of the La Mirage was where he made his fondest memories and met some of his best friends, often working hard along side them. The La Mirage is also the place where he met the love of his life and mother of his four children, Tami.
He is predeceased by his mother, Maria Halkias-Sarris, father, George Sarris, sister, Kalliopi Sarris-Tolias, and his brother and first true best friend, Komninos Sarris.
Surviving Mihail are countless cousins, nieces, and nephews along side 3 of his siblings, sister Evdoxia Sarris-Fasouletos, brother, Ilias Sarris, and sister, Sevasti Sarris-Christodoulakis. He also leaves behind his prides and joys, his four children, George, Maria, Paul, and Eleni with the forever love of his life, Tami Smith-Sarris.
A man dedicated to his friends and family first and foremost, he will truly be missed by all of those who had the opportunity to know him.
May his memory be eternal.
