Obituary of Evelyn W. Bauer

Evelyn W. Bauer, 91, of Monroe Township passed on December 3, 2022 at Princeton Medical Center with family by her side.. She was born in Bayville on November 19, 1931 and resided in Manalapan Township before moving to Monroe Township. She was known to her friends and family as Mickey, a nickname given to her by Aunt Daisy in recognition of Mickey Mouse. She began her career working after high school in a bank in Toms River. She volunteered at Deborah Hospital and the school library which became a part-time job. Evelyn married the love of her life, Ernest Bauer, on June 22, 1952 As her children were growing up, she volunteered as Brownie Leader and in the Recreational Kids Bowling League Her most noted roles were loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, Mommom, and true friend. She will be missed. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest in 1990 after 37 years of marriage, her parents Clinton and Charlotte Worth and two sisters, Charlotte Anna Mercer and her husband Bill and Joan Erb and her husband Lou. Surviving are her children, June Lenihan and husband Tom, Rick Bauer, Lori Burdick and husband Steve, two sisters, Jackie Metcalfe and husband Bill and Susan Endriss and husband Bob, six grandchildren Greg and his wife Beth Lenihan, Denny and his wife Adriana Lenihan, Melissa and her husband Dave Gross, Kevin Lenihan, Nicole Burdick and Ashley Sheridan and her fiance Vinny Astorini and four great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held during the viewing at 4:00 p.m.
