Obituary of Mary Jane Stiles

MaryJane Stiles Freehold - Mary Jane Stiles passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center. She was surrounded by friends and family up until her time of passing. She was born on December 27, 1933 to Clarence W. Patten and Helen Queeney Patten of Freehold. A life-long Freehold resident, Mary Jane graduated from Freehold High School in 1951 where she enjoyed varsity cheerleading among other activities. She married Charles Stiles of Old Bridge. Mary Jane was the proud mother of five children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. After divorcing her husband, Mary Jane worked hard to raise her children, often working 2-3 jobs at once to provide for her family. She spent her early years working at NJ Bell as a telephone operator and as a butcher at the local Acme on Main St, at Bailey's Square Services, as well as many years with Neptune Appliances, all of Freehold. MaryJane worked for the Monmouth County Court House as a clerk-typist until joining the Freehold Borough Court system where she was eventually promoted to Court Administrator where she worked until her retirement. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Helen Patten as well as her sister, Betty Dronne. Mary Jane was also predeceased by a son, Peter C Stiles, and a daughter, Bonnie Savarino. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Rakes and Susan Stiles Perri, and a son, Jeffrey Stiles, all of Freehold. Loved by her eight grandchildren, Sara, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Erica, Cassidy, Anthony, Mikayla and Ava along with six great-children, Sofia, Savannah, Kelsea, Shealynn, Tristan, and Leia. She was loved by will be missed by many. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 4-7pm with a service to follow on Wednesday at 11 am at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St. Freehold, NJ. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents and sister in a private ceremony.
