Obituary of Dennis Keith Dixon
Dennis Keith Dixon, of Toms River, formerly of Freehold, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2022 at the age of 71.
Dennis was born to Archie and Ruth Dixon, and grew up in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. He was a proud Eagle Scout, served in the United States Marine Corps, and went on to graduate with a BA in communications from Edinboro State College, Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Yet, he was a true entrepreneur and businessman, founding several businesses including a defense engineering firm and later a bar and restaurant, as well as being involved in commercial real estate.
The true meaning of Dennis’ life was found at home with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol, who was the love of his life for their 41 years of marriage. He leaves behind his children Dennis and Danielle, who he absolutely adored, along with their spouses, Nicole and Martin, and four grandchildren, Finn, Sawyer, Branson and Brooks. He will also be missed by his two sisters, Gloria and Heather, and their families, as well as his brother and sisters-in-law, 11 nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones.
Dennis was actively involved in his community, volunteering his time as a coach, serving as the President of Pop Warner, being involved in the booster club at Freehold Borough High School, taking part in the Freehold Beautiful Committee, as well as dedicating his time to Boy Scouts of America and St. Rose of Lima School. Dennis was at his happiest spending time at his house on Barnegat Bay, boating, fishing and enjoying time with his family and dog, Jake.
Dennis’ life will be honored at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Church, in Freehold NJ at 10am on Saturday, November 19th. A viewing will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold NJ between 4-8pm on Friday, November 18th.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Dennis’ memory
