Jessie James McLaughlin "Junior Jersey Torch"
Jesse James “Junior Jersey Torch” McLaughlin, 40, of Jackson Township passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. He was born in Long Branch and had resided in Englishtown and Toms River before moving to Jackson.
He was a school bus mechanic for Laidlaw Transportation and First Student, before working as a construction worker and landscaper.
He loved his family, his pit bulls, and auto racing with his dad at New Egypt Speedway and Wall Stadium.
He was predeceased by his father, James. R. McLaughlin, Sr.; his grandparents; a brother, James R. McLaughlin, III and a sister, Michelle Haut.
Surviving is his mother, Helen Marie Riggleman McLaughlin; two sisters, Gail McLaughlin, Spotswood and Patricia Dooley, Marlboro; his ex-wife, Prudence McLaughlin; Michaela and Meredith, whom he raised; his Godson, William Semmens; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
