Obituary of Ronald Tanner Johnson
Ronald "Ron, RJ, Ronnie" Tanner Johnson, 82, passed away on Friday, October 21st, 2022 in Freehold Township, NJ surrounded by family.
Ron was born on April 3rd, 1940 to Sadie and Walter Johnson in Freehold, NJ. He was the youngest of his brothers, Bobby and Ernie. He went to high school in Allentown, NJ.
Ron served two, four-year enlistments in the United States Air Force as a radar technician and was in the Vietnam War. He was employed at a number of jobs but ended at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a utility supervisor for over 20 years until he retired.
He married his wife, Jodi on November 16th, 1996 celebrating 25 years of marriage.
Ron enjoyed bowling, traveling all over while playing softball until he was in his 70s, working on and doing anything car related, telling stores of all kinds, enjoying his hot tea with honey and lemon, and being sarcastic as ever.
Ron is predeceased by his mother and father, Sadie and Walter, as well as his brother Ernie.
Ron is survived by his wife Jodi; their daughters and spouses, Michelle and Cody and Danielle and Kyle; his son Henry; his brother, Robert "Bobby"; his grandchildren, Robert "Bud", and Chloe; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday, October 27th from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Military honors will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
