Obituary of Richard Kuncken

Richard Kuncken, 66, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York City. He was born in in Jersey City and was a long-time resident of Freehold. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an engineering technician at Naval Weapons Station Earle for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of Monmouth Post No. 54, American Legion and Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus, both of Freehold. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Pauline Ringwald Kuncken; and a brother, David Kuncken. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen M. Ruddy-Kuncken; a daughter and son-in-law, Jaclyn and John Butera; four brothers, William, Edward, Dennis and Arthur Kuncken; and two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Juliana and Joseph Butera. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
